Tui Na is the name given to the deep tissue massage treatment which is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Tui Na aims to realign soft tissue and bone, energise the body and treat internal disease. It is often referred to as Chinese medical massage.

When used with acupuncture, Tui Na can relieve pain, reduce swelling, relax muscle spasms, stimulate circulation and disperse accumulation of Qi (“vital energy”), blood and fluids. It can also have a very calming effect to relieve feelings of stress or anxiety.

Physically, Tui Na is a series of pressing, tapping and kneading manipulations that removes blockages along the body’s Channels (pathways in the body) and stimulates the flow of Qi (“vital energy”) and blood to promote healing. Massage techniques range from light manipulations to deep-tissue work.

Tui Na can treat, effectively, a variety of conditions including back pain, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, migraine, digestive disorders, stress, amongst other conditions.
